2020 Christmas Donation Drive
Every year, we organize a Christmas donation drive to support GK (Gawad Kalinga) scholars and their families. I made this video showcasing the highlights from our very first drive in 2020, amidst the challenges brought by the pandemic.
2021 Fitness Donation Drive
Throughout the pandemic, it was rather difficult for the GK scholars to remain active since they couldn't train and play soccer in person with their teammates. To address this, we organized a fitness equipment donation drive, where we distributed 30 bags containing vitamins, food, and fitness equipment to support each of the scholar-athletes and their families.
The Impact of Kaya Cares During Covid
Amid the pandemic in the Philippines, businesses shattered, and the economy took a severe hit. In this video I created, we interviewed three scholar-athletes to better understand how they were affected by the pandemic and how Kaya Cares, along with its supporters, was a crucial source of assistance through our drives.
The Impact of Kaya Cares Tutoring
In October 2021, we launched our online tutoring program, transitioning to in-person tutoring in November 2022. Our weekly tutoring initiative is a pivotal component of Kaya Cares, providing valuable academic support to numerous GK scholars. We help them review school material to ensure a solid understanding of concepts, leading to improved academic performance. In addition, we teach new material, offer snacks during sessions, and play interactive games with the kids.
2023-2024 School Supplies Drive
Every school year, we organize a school supplies drive for the GK scholars to get them ready and excited for the upcoming school year. I put together this video to capture the highlights from our latest school supplies drive, as we prepared for the 2023-2024 school year.
